This old web site will stick it out as a reminder of what once was for as long as the host supports it. It has been 10 years, now, since I began my self-taught foray into HTML and the basics are still applicable. Blogs and social networks have laregly supplanted the personal web page, but closing my Tripod account would be like abandoning an owned property because I have a slough of rentals. And, from a collector's viewpoint, the older and more rare something is, the more valuable it becomes. Somehow, maintaining an aging website feels like preserving the past. The spirit and purpose of these pages remain intact. I staked my claim and that's that.
